The latest news on the legal battle between South Korean actor Kim Hyun Joong and his ex-girlfriend Ms Choi claim that a court has ordered the two take a DNA test to determine the paternity of Ms Choi's son.
According to reports, judge Jung Hyun Kyung from South Korean family court has ordered the ex-couple to give their DNA sample.
This update from the court comes after Ms Choi filed a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend, Kim Hyun Joong regarding the paternity of her child in September 2015. She requested for a DNA test to prove the paternity results. Soon after this, the South Korean actor's representatives agreed to take part in the test, but put forth the argument that the DNA test should be conducted by Human Pass, a private agency. However, Ms Choi requested the offer as it was being conducted by a company hired by Kim Hyun Joong.
Ms Choi's lawyer, Sun Jong Moon said, "A DNA test is likely to take place within this month at Seoul National University Hospital," reported Soompi.
The website further claimed that Kim Hyun Joong, who enlisted in the military could loose 10 million won (approximately $8500) if he doesn't take the DNA test.
The actor's lawyers said, "If paternity is confirmed, Kim Hyun Joong will take responsibility as the baby's father."
At this point, it in unclear when the results will be announced.
