Shaad Ali's latest directorial venture "Kill Dil" has got good opening and done decent collection at the Indian box office on the first day.
"Kill Dil" has been creating positive buzz in the media, ever since producer Aditya Chopra announced it. The promos of the film have soared up the audiences' expectations sky high. In addition, the maker has shelled out on hefty sum on its publicity. With the movie registering decent amount of advance ticket bookings, trade experts in B-Town predicted that it would start on a fantastic note at the box office.
"Kill Dil" released in 2000+ screens in the domestic market on 14 November. The film registered an average of 70% to 80% occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes in the morning shows on Friday. Despite getting mixed reviews from critics and viewers, the movie managed to show growth in the later shows. As per early trends, the film has made superb collection at the domestic box office on its opening day.
"While the morning shows of the film have opened to packed houses with an 80% occupancy rate, the subsequent shows reflect a drastic drop in bookings. If that was not enough, the film will also face competition, albeit mainly in metros from the Hollywood releases Boyhood, that has been receiving tremendous praise across the globe and the action flick John Wick," reports BollywoodHungama.
Ranveer Singh's previous outing "Gunday", which has collected ₹16.12 crore in the domestic box office on the first day, has been the biggest opener for the actor. His latest release "Kill Dil" was expected to break this record and become the biggest opener in his career.
