Romantic action entertainer "Kill Dil" registered decent openings on the first day of its release.
"Kill Dil," starring Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra and Govinda, was released in around 2,000 theatres worldwide on Friday. The film witnessed good occupancy in the mornings, thanks to the promos and the big starcast. Its business is expected to pick up later in the evening and night shows.
The romantic action entertainer is doing well in multiplexes and its performance in single screens is expected to pick up during the day, reported Koimoi. It is likely to rake in decent collections on the opening day, but its performance during the opening weekend will depend more on word of mouth.
If the film manages to impress the audience, it is likely to fare well at the box-office. The Ranveer-starrer has received decent reviews from critics who have appreciated the actor's performance in the film. Critics have stated that the film is a predictable commercial potboiler, but the performance of Ranveer and Govinda are the saving grace of the film.
"Kill Dil" is expected to dominate the screens as there are no other big releases this weekend. Although SRK's Diwali release "Happy New Year" is still running in theatres, the film is unlikely to pose major threat to "Kill Dil" as the heist drama is expected to end its business by this weekend.
Directed by Shaad Ali of "Bunty Aur Babli" fame, the story of "Kill Dil" revolves around two killers, played by Ranveer and Ali Zafar. They are professional killers mentored by Govinda. What happens when a free-spirited girl (played by Parineeti) enters their life?
"Kill Dil" is a comeback film for Govinda who will be seen in a role with negative shades. Parineeti, who mostly played the girl-next-door, dons a glamorous avatar in this film.
The music for "Kill Dil" has been composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, while the movie has been produced by Yash Raj Films.
