"Jumme Ki Raat", the first song from Salman Khan's much-awaited film "Kick," has received more than 5 million hits (over 50 lakh hits) on the video sharing site YouTube.
Salman and Jacqueline Fernandez groove to the song sung by Mika Singh and Palak Muchhal. The film's music is composed by Himesh Reshammiya and the lyrics have been written by Kumaar and Shabbir Ahmed. Ahmed Khan has choreographed the steps for the peppy number.
"It has a contemporary beat with heavy base guitars, but at the core, the composition is very Indian. And it is this fusion that works for the song," Himesh Reshammiya told the Times of India. "It's a song with a lot of attitude and who better than Salman bhai to carry it off," he said.
The video song has received fantastic response from fans and fetched more than 51 lakh hits. T-Series, which has bought the musical rights of "Kick", has also uploaded the full "Jumme Ki Raat" audio song on YouTube. The trailer of "Kick", which was released on 15 June, has already turned out to be a huge hit. The official video has amassed more than 10 million hits.
Salman has charmed his fans with his action and humour in the trailer. The actor is all set to impress them with his vocals. He has reportedly lent his voice for a song titled "Hangover." Popular singer Shreya Ghoshal has rendered the female vocals for the number. Besides the "Hangover" song, Salman is likely to sing the remix version of "Jumme Ki Raat," reported TOI.
"Kick" is one of the most-awaited films of 2014. The first look posters, trailer and "Jumme Ki Raat" song have raised the expectations among Salman's fans. The big budget entertainer, remake of a Telugu film with the same name, has Salman appearing in the role of a guy who does anything for kick. The action comedy entertainer also has Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles.
The film marks the directorial debut of Sajid Nadiadwala. As a producer, Sajid has been on a roll with back-to-back successful films like "Highway", "2 States" and "Heropanti." It remains to be seen whether he will be able to strike gold with "Kick", which he had directed as well as produced under his Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner.
"Kick" is slated to hit theatres for Eid in July. The film holds a lot of promise and is likely to take fantastic openings upon its release.
