Update: Salman Khan's "Kick" Song "Jumme Ki Raat" Released. Click HERE.
The first song from Salman Khan's much-anticipated "Kick" will be launched on Friday, 20 June.
The film's makers have decided to release the song "Jumme Ki Raat" on Friday (Jumma) as it considered to be auspicious day for Muslims. The song will be a peppy number featuring Salman and Jacqueline Fernandez, and has been choreographed by Ahmed Khan. The film's music is composed by Himesh Reshamiyya and the background score is by Julius Packiam.
"The song is a treat for all Salman fans. It has been shot in underground style on a lavish scale. We have tried to give it an edgy and grungy feel," film's director Sajid Nadiadwala told the Times of India.
It is being launched just days after the power packed "Kick" official trailer was released in the presence of fans at a single screen theatre in Mumbai. The trailer has received overwhelming response from fans and has fetched over 60 lakh views in less than five days. The video is fast approaching the 10 million mark and is expected to achieve the feat in a few days.
"Kick" is an action packed entertainer with Salman playing the role of a thief named "The Devil." Randeep Hooda appears in the role of a cop, who is in pursuit of the thief. Fernandez plays the female lead for the first time opposite Salman, while the film's other cast members include Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Mithun Chakraborty, Saurabh Shukla and Archana Puran Singh.
The Salman starrer is the Hindi remake of a Telugu film with the same name. The film has also been remade in Tamil. The Telugu version turned out to be a blockbuster, while the Tamil version failed to set the cash registers ringing. "Kick" is being remade in Kannada as "Superro Ranga" and the film is expected to hit screens soon.
South remakes have proved to be successful ones for Salman Khan. The actor's films including "Wanted", "Ready", "Bodyguard" and "Jai Ho", all remakes of south films, have performed well at the box office. Except for "Wanted", the other Salman starrers have entered the elite 100 crore club. Now, all eyes are on "Kick" and it will be interesting to see if the film will strike gold at the box office.
Its trailer offers lot of promise and has surged the expectations of the viewers. One needs to wait and watch if the action comedy entertainer will be able to live up to the hype. Producer Nadiadwala is making his directorial debut with "Kick" and he is also funding the project under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The producer is sparing no expense to make it a grand project. According to a report in Hindustan Times, he has roped in a team of specialists to look after the film's post production work.
UTV Motion Pictures will be distributing the action entertainer, which is gearing up for release on 25 July to cash in on the Eid festival period.
