"Kick," which had a solo big release on 25 July, has performed exceptionally well at both India and overseas box office. The film has been setting records for Salman Khan. The action comedy entertainer is the highest-grossing Salman film not just in India but also in international markets. The film has grossed over ₹65 crore till Friday (third week) at the overseas box office.
The Salman starrer is expected to hold well on Sunday (10 Sunday), but its collections are expected to drop from Monday (11 August). The release of Akshay's "Entertainment" seems to have affected the film's business to some extent.
However, "Entertainment" has received mixed reviews from critics. If the film fails to perform well in the coming days, then "Kick" might witness some improvement in its business. It might have another one-week decent run at the box office until the release of "Singham Returns" on 15 August.
"Kick" is currently the fourth highest grossing bollywood film of all time. The action entertainer is expected to surpass "Chennai Express" collections (₹227.13 crore) in a few days. However, it might be difficult for the Salman starrer to beat lifetime collections (India business) of "Krrish 3" (₹244.92 crore) and "Dhoom 3" (₹284.27 crore). "Kick" is directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, who has made his directorial debut with the film. Nadiadwala has also produced the big-budget entertainer, which is a remake of a Telugu film with the same name.
