Salman's "Kick" had failed to cross the ₹100 crore mark in its opening weekend and also failed to beat Shah Rukh Khan's "Chennai Express" and Aamir Khan's "Dhoom 3" record at the box office. But the film's debut weekend collection is this year's highest figure.
Also, the film managed to break Hrithik Roshan's "Krrish 3" and Ranbir Kapoor's "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" opening weekend record of ₹72.8 crore and ₹62.11 crore respectively.
Meanwhile, the film had performed splendidly during the opening weekend in India and overseas, compared to Khan's previous films, including "Ek Tha Tiger" and "Dabangg 2."
"Kick," released in over 4,000 screens in India and 700 screens overseas, has received positive response from audiences worldwide. And hence the film is holding well at the box offices across the world.
But the film would see a drop in its earnings on Monday, as it is a working day and also the last day of Ramadan. However, the collection is expected to shoot up on Tuesday due to Eid holiday across the country.
"Kick" is now aiming to cross the ₹100 crore mark before finishing the first week and with Eid festivities starting from Tuesday, the film would definitely end up with a huge week one total at the box office.
