Telugu actor Ravi Teja is all set to commence the shooting for "Kick 2", the sequel to his 2009-release "Kick."
Director Surender Reddy has confirmed that the film's shooting will commence from 20 August. "We are going to begin shooting for Kick 2 from Wednesday. The film is going to be even more entertaining than Kick and we will spare no effort to ensure it. Ravi Teja is going to be seen in a cracker-jack of a role," Reddy told the Times of India.
The director also revealed that the film will have nothing to do with the original version.
"Kick 2" will be produced by actor Kalyan Ram under the NTR Arts banner. The film's music will be composed by Thaman. Details about the cast and crew, including the female lead are yet to be revealed. Expectations are high for "Kick 2" as the original was a massive hit at the box office.
The first part, which has been remade in Hindi with Salman Khan in the lead, has been doing extraordinary business at the box office. The Hindi version, which is also titled "Kick," has emerged as the third highest grossing Bollywood film of all time by earning more than ₹227 crore.
One needs to wait and see whether there will be a sequel to Khan's "Kick." Apparently, Salman has expressed his desire to do "Kick" sequel. Considering that the film was a huge blockbuster, the sequel might also perform well at the box office.
But, director Sajid Nadiadwala is reportedly not ready to do another film for at least eight years as he is busy with his home productions. "Right now I am completely exhausted. Direction along with 3-4 productions every year is not possible for me. So as far as I'm concerned I am not directing another film for at least 8 years. Unless Salman has his way," Nadiadwala was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama.
Salman also has his hands full with a couple of projects, including Sooraj Barjatya's and Kabir Khan's.
If "Kick" sequel ever happens, it will be a real treat for Salman's fans who have enjoyed seeing the actor in the role of Devil.
