Ravi Teja starrer "Kick 2" got off to a flying start at the box office. The Telugu movie has performed well both in India as well in the US.
In its first weekend, Telugu movie "Kick 2" has grossed Rs 16.2 crore (Rs 14.9 crore net) from Andhra Pradesh and Nizam regions, reports Andhra Box Office. From the overseas circuits, the Telugu movie has earned more than Rs 6 crore.
In its home territory (AP), "Kick 2" has collected Rs 6.2 crore with a net income of Rs 5.21 crore. The Ravi Teja movie raked in Rs 2.3 crore (Rs 1.92 crore net) and Rs 6.4 crore (Rs 5 crore net) respectively in Ceeded and Nizam centres.
The next best place for "Kick 2" was Karnataka where it earned Rs 2.75 crore with a net income of Rs 2.50 crore.
However, the business has not been good in other parts of India as it could only make Rs 1.20 crore.
As for overseas box office, "Kick 2" did good business in the US where it minted Rs 2.04 crore ($307,195) from 99 screens in its first weekend. Indeed, this film performed better than all other Indian movies in the US.
Mahesh Babu's "Srimanthudu", Bollywood films such as Akshay Kumar's "Brothers", "All is Well" and "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", "Drishyam", "Baahubali" (Hindi version) and Tamil movie "Vaalu" are the other India films that did good business in the US.
However, the success of "Kick 2" depends on its consistent good performance at the collection centres. The Telugu movie should do exceptionally well in the coming days at the box office to make good profit.
Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli's blockbuster "Baahubali" and Mahesh Babu's "Srimanthudu" have continued to pull audience to theatres. The good occupancy rates for these flicks is rubbing off on "Kick 2", believe traders.
