Khaidi No 150 set for mega TV premiere: Will Chiranjeevi's film beat Baahubali TRP record?

Megastar Chiranjeevi's hit Telugu movie Khaidi No 150 is set for mega TV premiere on Star Maa on Sunday evening. It is expected to beat TRP record of Magadheera and Baahubali: The Beginning.

Khaidi No 150 was one of the most hyped Telugu movies of 2017 for several reasons. Firstly, it marked the comeback of Chiranjeevi and secondly it was the 150th movie of the megastar. The hype surrounding the film had generated huge demand for its satellite rights and Star India acquired its Television rights for a whopping price of Rs. 13 crore, which is a record amount for a Telugu film.

Now, Star India has planned to premiere Khaidi No 150 on its Telugu channel – Star Maa from 6.00 pm today. The bosses of the TV channel tweeted: "Megastar's Boxoffice Hit #KhaidiNo150 Mega Television Premiere..This Sunday at 6 PM on @StarMaa​ #BossOnStarMaa."

Actor Ram Charan, who turned producer with this film, has bankrolled Khaidi No 150 under his banner Konidela Production Company. He also informed the Twitter followers of his banner about its premiere. Besides posting a teaser of the film, he tweeted: "Ammadu let's do Kummudu!!! #KhaidiNo150 Mega Television Premiere..Today at 6 PM on Star Maa #KhaidiNo150MegaTVPremiere 4 hours to go..!"

The VV Vinayak-directed action drama is remake of AR Murugadoss' Kaththi and it featured Chiranjeevi and Kajal Aggarwal in the leads. Released in theatres on January 11, Khaidi No 150 has collected Rs. 164 crore gross at the worldwide box office in its lifetime and has earned Rs. 104 crore for its distributors.

The experts from the film industry think that Khaidi No 150 would repeat its success on small screen too and register record breaking TRP ratings on its TV premiere. The movie is likely to dethrone SS Rajamouli's Magadheera and Baahubali: The Beginning from the top ranks in the list of Telugu movies with the all time highest TRP ratings.
