Rocking Star Yash and Srinidhi Shetty's KGF has come out with flying colours at the box office. The movie has performed extremely well on Tuesday, December 25 (Christmas holiday) and the movie is heading towards breaching into Rs 75-crore club.
On the fifth day, KGF had a better occupancy rate in theatres across Karnataka and Hindi belts. The turnout of the family audience to theatres was equal to the footfalls that the flick witnessed on Sunday. Notably, the flick has managed to overcome the mixed talks and enjoying repeat audience in cinema halls.
A rough estimate coming from the trade indicate KGF to have grossed over Rs 42 crore so far and expected breach into Rs 50-crore mark shortly. In the remaining parts of South India, the Prashant Neel-directorial movie has raked in over Rs 7.1 crore to take its South India total to Rs 49.1 crore.
Meanwhile, the business of the Hindi version of KGF has witnessed considerable improvement and has made impressive business at the box office. From the Bollywood version alone, KGF has grossed around Rs 22 crore to take its domestic total to Rs 71.1 crore.
In the US box office, the Yash starrer has raked in Rs 2.89 crore, which is the highest collection for a Kannada movie in this part of the world. The film is yet to see a full-fledged release in other parts of the world.
Prashanth Neel's period drama is produced by Hombale Films. Srinidhi Shetty has played the female lead in the flick, which has Tamannaah Bhatia in a special song (South version) and Mouni Roy (Hindi version).
