Rocking Star Yash's KGF has created a history by getting humongous opening at the Karnataka box office. Apart from the Kannada version, it was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages and all those versions contributed its bit which helped the flick to become the biggest opener of all-time for a film originally made in Sandalwood.
The movie was released in 2460 screens in India and a few foreign countries. While KGF had enjoyed extraordinary pre-release talk, other language versions had garnered decent buzz, but it did not translate into big numbers. The Prashanth Neel's creation made average collection in the Hindi belt, whereas the business in Tamil Nadu and Kerala were not up to the mark, mainly because of the release of a few big movies in the respective industries.
After getting a solid opening, KGF has retained the momentum on the second day in Karnataka, while it has seen considerable improvement in its business in North India. Going by the trade trackers, the film has done well in the urban centres. In first two days, KGF is estimated to have grossed Rs 35+ crore in two days at the worldwide box office. In its home territory of Karnataka, the Yash-starrer is predicted to be gross over Rs 22+ crore.
Please note that these are early estimated numbers and the final figures might vary.
Notably, KGF has performed well at the US box office where it has grossed Rs 1.6 crore. The movie has the potential to become the biggest hit in this centre, by beating the record of Rangi Taranga, which had grossed R 2.21 in its lifetime.
With a great advance booking, KGF is expected to end its first weekend on a high note. And the Christmas holiday will only help the movie to boost its business, especially in Karnataka.
KGF is produced by Hombale Films and has Yash and Srinidhi Shetty in the leads. The Rocking Star's heroism, good story and mass elements have impressed the viewers.
