All the versions of Yash's KGF: Chapter 1 kept the cash registers ringing at the India box office on Monday and took its four-day total collection beyond Rs 80 crore gross mark.
Zero had dimmed the prospects of the Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 1 and many were sceptical at its performance in north India. The Yash starrer began on a slow note but went on to show decent growth after the SRK starrer got mixed reviews. It collected Rs 9.20 crore net at the domestic box office in the first weekend. It is a huge number for the dubbed version of a Kannada film.
The people in the B-Town were curious to know how it would perform on Monday. However, the Prashanth Neel-directed film cleared the Monday test by remaining rock-steady at the ticket counters. KGF has collected Rs 2.90 crore net, taking its four-day total to Rs 12.10 crore net. In fact, its fourth-day business is bigger than its opening day collection.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted its day-wise collection, "#KGF continues to trend very, very well... Mon is higher than Fri and similar to Sat... #Christmas holiday today should boost its biz further... Fri 2.10 cr, Sat 3 cr, Sun 4.10 cr, Mon 2.90 cr. Total: ₹ 12.10 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version."
On the other hand, KGF: Chapter 1 made a record-breaking collection at the Karnataka box office in the first weekend. But its performance was not up to the mark in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Telugu states. Surprisingly, the movie has shown decent growth in its collection in these areas. With this, its total collection has surpassed Rs 80 crore gross mark in the domestic market in four days.
Ramesh Bala, the observer of south India film trade, tweeted, "#KGF Monday - Dec 24th BO - Gross: Karnataka - ₹ 11.70 Crs Telugu States - ₹ 1.90 Crs TN - 0.90 Crs Kerala - 0.40 Crs. In 4 days, #KGF has grossed nearly ₹ 80 Crs at the WW Box Office.. Since Monday, there is an upswing in collections in Telugu States, TN and Kerala, compared to the weekend.."
