Kerala: Political violence kills CPI(M), BJP workers in 12 hours
The deceased has been identified as Biju, a Kakkampara Mandal Karyavahak of RSS. According to police, he was travelling on his bike when he was attacked at around 3 pm. He died on the spot. The attackers were in a car.
Police are suspecting that as Biju was the 12th accused in the murder of CPI (M) worker Dhanraj, his murder may be an act of vengeance by the rival party.
According to Manaroma, Biju was under police protection till last week. "As of now we have no clue about who is behind the attack. But we believe that his political rivals may have murdered him," said a police officer.
Meanwhile, BJP are alleging that CPI (M) conspired and executed the murder. BJP has also called for a strike in Kannur on Saturday. Security has been tightened in the area to avoid any clash between BJP and CPI (M).
In July 2016, CPI (M) activist Dhanraj was hacked to death outside his home in Payyanur. The activist was attacked when he was about to enter his house at around 10.30 pm. Later that night, BMS (labour wing of RSS) worker CK Ramachandran was also hacked to death in retaliation to Dhnaraj's murder.
