The Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) reportedly interrogated a man from Malappuram in Kerala at Kozhikode airport on Monday over suspected terror links.
Some reports suggest that the RAW interrogated the man over his suspected links to the Islamic State (Isis). The man, hailing from Tirur in Malappuram, was taken into custody while returning from abroad.
However, district police chief Debesh Kumar Behera told Manorama Online that there is no official information regarding the terror suspect's detention.
In August, a Dubai-based journalist from Palakkad had reportedly left for Syria to join the Raqqa-based Islamist terrorist organisation.
A report from the central government had earlier pointed out that many Indians were increasingly getting influenced by the Isis through social media. Thirteen Indian nationals have reportedly joined the Islamic State over the last one year, of which six were killed, while seven are still fighting for the outfit.
