Parents and relatives of 19-year-old small-time actress Shilpa, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Kerala's capital city on Saturday, have filed a police complaint claiming that she was murdered.

Shilpa, who had acted in a few Malayalam and Tamil TV serials and films, was found dead in Karamana River on July 18. She hailed from Vellanad, Thiruvananthapuram.
Shilpa was a plus two student at Sasthamangalam RKD Memorial Higher Secondary School.
What we know so far?
Apart from acting in various TV serials, Shilpa used to work as a compere at functions and was also a lead singer in a music troupe.
On the day Shilpa's body was recovered from Karamana River, she had gone out with a girl from Kattakkada at 12:30pm to attend a function at a house in Balaramapuram. After Shilpa's father couldn't contact her around 3:30 pm, he reportedly called the other girl, who informed him that the actress had left following a tiff.
The girl came to Shilpa's house in the evening and gave Rs 300 to her parents claiming it to be a 'balance payment'. She left in a hurry, the father said.
Shilpa's body was found in the river around 10pm.
Her parents ruled out the suicide theory, claiming that she was excited about attending an upcoming concert in Tamil Nadu.
Who was Shilpa?
Shilpa had acted in popular Malayalam serials "Chandanamazha", "Pranayam", "Soubhagyavathi" and also in three Tamil projects. She was also in one of Santhosh Pandit's flicks and appeared in some advertisements. Her last project was Tamil film "Chiraku", which is currently under production. She also starred in "Meghasandesham", a serial, which is yet to be aired.
