Amid speculations and rumors regarding the release of 'Odiyan' on a hartal date, makers of the flick have now revealed that the film will be released on December 14 as previously planned. In the official Facebook page of the movie, the makers added that the initial shows of the Mohanlal film will begin at 4.30 AM in the morning.
Earlier, Antony Perumbavoor, the producer of the movie had exclusively told International Business Times, India that they are trying hard to release the movie as planned.
As per reports, it was theater owners who initially showed their reluctance to release the movie on a hartal date. However, talks between theater owners and producers of the movie turned fruitful after police decided to provide security to the screens where 'Odiyan' is getting screened.
The Kerala hartal announcement of BJP is now receiving widespread public uproar and social media users are loudly proclaiming that an actor like Mohanlal is an emotion for them. Many people even went ahead and made it clear that Mohanlal fans are stronger than BJP in the state.
'Odiyan' is touted to be the biggest Malayalam movie ever made, and it is getting released in more than 3,500 screens worldwide. The dubbed version of 'Odiyan' in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi will be also released tomorrow.
Acclaimed ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon has directed 'Odiyan'. The film will narrate the story of shape-shifting people popular in Palakkad folklore, and one among this shape-shifter will be played by Mohanlal. Lady Superstar Manju Warrier is playing the character of lady lead in this movie, while the supporting star cast includes Prakash Raj, Narain, Nandu and Siddique. Sam CS has composed the background score of the movie, while the songs are composed by M Jayachandran.
Antony Perumbvoor has produced this mega-budget outing in the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
