Kerala has been facing one of its worst calamities as heavy rains lashed the state over the past few days. Actors from Kerala's film industry have been making huge contributions to the flood victims.
It should be noted that Mollywood stars including Mohanlal and Mammootty joined the relief efforts only after social media strongly started trolling them due to the amount that AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) donated to the cause. Earlier, AMMA donated only ten lakh INR to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund, while several actors from Tamil and Telugu film industry gave amounts more than ten lakh.
As social media outrage went out of control, Mammootty, the megastar of Mollywood donated 15 lakh rupees to the Chief Minister's relief fund. Soon, Dulquer Salmaan followed and donated 10 lakh.
The next day, Mohanlal donated 25 lakh rupees to the relief fund and was followed by Telugu star Allu Arjun who also donated 25 lakhs. In the midst of gripping panic, Mohanlal announced that the trailer of his new movie 'Drama' will be released only after the conditions in the state comes back to normalcy.
