Director Koratala Siva, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Vijay Devarakonda, Ram Pothineni and several other Tollywood celebs have made generous donations for Kerala floods relief fund.
Koratala Siva has donated Rs 25 lakh to the Kerala floods relief fund. He took to his Twitter account to share the certificate that he received from the Chief Minister of the state. The director tweeted, "Let's all stand by the people of Kerala in rebuilding their lives and their beautiful state. #KeralaFloods #SaveKerala. [sic]"
Ram Pothineni donated Rs 5 lakh for this cause. The actor shared the receipt of it on Twitter and wrote, "Sometimes, the least we can do is also the best we can do.. Praying for my dear brothers and sisters.. - #Love - R.A.P.O #KeralaFloodRelief [sic]"
Allu Arjun has donated Rs 25 lakh for the flood relief fund. The stylish star, who is known as Mallu Arjun in Kerala tweeted, "People of Kerala will always occupy a special place in my heart for the unmatchable Love & Affection they shower . Their Love & the Loss is Unmatchable. But still I take the Honour to do my bit. I hereby pledge to donate 25,00,000 for the #KeralaFloodRelief . Love "M"Allu Arjun. [sic]"
Vijay Deverakonda confirmed his donation of Rs 5 lakh on August 12. He also urged his Twitter followers for the support. The actor tweeted, "But I am thinking of you. Rowdies, let's all pitch in small amounts and we may make a huge change to someone like us in Kerala. Here, I'll start us off with 5,00,000/- #KeralaFloodRelief [sic]"
The makers of Geetha Govindam announced that its earnings in Kerala will be donated for the relief fund. Vamsi Kaka, the publicist for the movie, tweeted, "Producer Bunny Vas announces on behalf of @GeethaArts that the total share of #GeethaGovindam collected in Kerala will be donated to #KeralaFloodRelief #KeralaFloods (sic)"
It is reported that Prabhas has donated Rs 1 crore for the relief fund. Ram Charan donated Rs 60 lakh along with 10 tonnes of rice and water. His wife Upasana Kamineni donated Rs 1.2 crore to Kerala CM Distress Relief Fund. She is also planning to provide the health services for free by setting up Apollo Caring Centres. However, there is no official confirmation for these donations.
Some celebs had also prayed for the flood-hit victims of the state. Varun Tej Konidela tweeted, "Really saddened by the suffering Keralites are going through due the floods! My thoughts and prayers are with them! Let's all extend our full support to them in any which way possible.#Keralafloods [sic]"
Sai Dharam Tej tweeted, "It's tragic to hear what's happening to #Kerala let's do our bit and help our brothers and sisters. #KeralaRains [sic]"
