College magazines are the new Charlie Hebdo in Kerala. After Government Polytechnic College in Kunnamkulam, St Johns College in Anchal and Imam Gazzali Arts and Science College in Koolivayalil, an institution in Thalassery has stirred controversy for few provocative caricatures.

The cover page of the magazine of Brennen College in Thalassery features a bandaged face. The 12th and 13th page show a cartoon of a couple making love in a cinema hall while National Anthem is played in the background.

The cartoon and a few articles have irked the Kerala division of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Pellet was published as part of the 125th year celebrations of college in Kannur, where Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan studied. SG Suryah, Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJP Youth Wing) in Tamil Nadu commented: "Oh God! College where CM of Kerala Commie Pinarayi Vijayan is an alumni? Commie SFI give us a doubt if it's a College Magazine or Porn Book [sic]."
It is understood that, following a council meeting, the college union has withdrawn the two pages in the question. However, they have decided not to take down any articles.
