Jayasurya's "Pretham," "Inspector Dawood Ibrahim" and Biju Menon's "Marubhoomiyile Aana," released on Aug. 12, have been performing decently at the Kerala box office. Among the three movies, it is the horror comedy entertainer that has been earning well after garnering positive response from the audience.
"Pretham," helmed by Ranjith Sankar is said to have crossed Rs. 4 crore mark with an earning of approximately Rs. 4.24 crore within five days of its theatrical run in the state. According to trade analysts, the four day and three day gross collection of the film were Rs. 3.74 crore and Rs. 2.67 crore, respectively.
The Jayasurya-starrer which also has Aju Varghese, Govind Padmasoorya, Sharafudheen and Dharmajan Bolgatty in the main roles, is narrated in the backdrop of an haunted sea-side resort owned by the youngsters. Jayasurya, who plays mentalist John Don Bosco, is on a mission to find the reason behind the paranormal activities that happen in the resort.
Meanwhile, the versatile actor's action thriller "IDI" is said to be witnessing a decent collection at the Kerala box office. The Sajid Yahiya directed film is believed to have collected Rs. 2.35 crore within four days of its release in Kerala. The movie had entered the Rs. 1 crore mark after completing two days of its theatrical run in the state.
However, director VK Prakash's comedy entertainer "Marubhoomiyile Aana" has been making only an average collection in Kerala. Even after running for four days, the movie, which also stars Balu Varghese, Krishna Shankar and Samskruthy Shenoy in main roles, is said to have made only a gross collection of Rs. 1.61 crore.
