Malayalam movie Aanandam, which was released in 73 screens on October 21 in Kerala, has opened to fabulous response from the audience in the state. Despite being a movie with newcomers in the cast and crew, the campus entertainer had 91 per cent theatre occupancy on the opening day at the multiplexes in Kochi.
The movie is said to have made a gross collection of Rs 6.49 lakh on the first day itself from five screens in Kochi. Out of the 22 shows, nine shows were screened with housefull shows at the multiplexes.
After garnering good audience response, the team of Aanandam has now revealed the release date of the campus entertainer in screens outside Kerala. LJ Films, which distributes Aanandam, has announced that the movie will be released outside the state on November 4.
Aanandam, bankrolled by Vineeth Sreenivasan under the banner of Habit of Life, has also been garnering positive response from critics and celebrities, including Kunchacko Boban, Aju Varghese, Ahmed Sidhique, directors Jude Anthany Joseph, Anil Radhakrishna Menon, Anvar Sadiq and Roshni Dinaker, among many others. The campus entertainer, which narrates the incidents that happen during a four-day trip of a batch of engineering students in Kerala, stars seven debutants -- Arun Kurian, Anu Antony, Thomas Mathew, Roshan Mathew, Siddhi Mahajankatti, Vishak Nair and Anarkali Marikar -- in the lead roles.
The debut directorial venture of Ganesh Raj handles the topics of friendship and love focusing youngsters as its target audience.
