Mohanlal's "Vismayam," Sunny Wayne's "Ann Maria Kalippilaanu" and Tovino Thomas' "Guppy," released on Aug. 5 have been garnering tremendous responses from the audience.
Chandra Shekhar Yeleti's multi-lingual movie "Vismayam" (titled "Manamantha" in Telugu and "Namadhu" in Tamil) is said to have grossed approximately Rs. 2.60 crore with a net amount of Rs. 2.10 crore and share of Rs. 1.17 crore after completing three days of its successful run at the Kerala box office. According to trade analysts, the Mohanlal-starrer, which has been garnering positive response from the audience, had earned approximately Rs. 67.80 lakh with a net amount of Rs. 54.65 lakh on the opening day in Kerala.
Meanwhile, child artiste Sarah Arjun's debut Malayalam movie "Ann Maria Kalippilaanu" is also performing well at the box office in the state. The Midhun Manuel Thomas-directed movie has entered the Rs. 1 crore mark within three days of its release. The family entertainer is believed to have collected Rs. 1.21 crore during the opening day and the first weekend in Kerala with Rs. 97.60 lakh net and Rs. 57.23 lakh share amount. It has grossed Rs. 5.97 lakh within three days from multiplexes in Kochi alone.
Chethan Jayalal and Tovino's "Guppy," helmed by Johnpaul George has also been opened to positive response from the audience for being a feel good entertainer. The collection report of the movie is not revealed as of now. Meanwhile, according to trade analysts, Mammootty's cop movie "Kasaba" has made a whopping collection of Rs. 14.37 crore within a month of its release in the state. However, the megastar's "White" has failed to make a mark and could only earn a gross amount of Rs. 1.28 crore within 10 days from Kerala.
