Biju Menon's latest film "Salt Mango Tree" was released without much hype or publicity. However, the film has opened to positive reviews from movie-goers and critics for its fresh and simple plot.
"Salt Mango Tree", made on a budget of Rs 3 crore, has already grossed Rs 1.6 core within three days of its release, as revealed by the director Rajesh Nair. The film was released in more than 75 theatres in Kerala on Friday, 6 November.

The comedy entertainer revolves around the family of Aravind TP (Biju), which comprises his wife Priya and 5-year-old son Manu. The film shows the efforts the parents put in to get their children admitted to leading English medium schools.
Vinod Vijayakumar and Vinod Jayakumaran has scripted the 2-hour-4-minute-long movie, which also has Lakshmi Chandramouli, Master Varkichan, Suhasini Maniratnam, Paris Laxmi, Sarayu, Indrans, Sudheer Karamana and Sunil Sukhada in significant roles.

Earlier, Biju's "Vellimoonga" had also rocked the Kerala box office by collecting approximately Rs 20 crore. The film was made on a budget of Rs 2.8 crore. Will "Salt Mango Tree" breaks the record of "Vellimoonga" is something we'll know only after the film is released outside Kerala.
After IBTimes contacted the film's director Rajesh, it is understood that the makers are planning to release the film outside Kerala soon.
