Among Eid releases, it is Mammootty's "Kasaba" that has ranked on top at the Kerala box office and is set to become one of the highest grossing films of the megastar. Three other Malayalam movies — "Anuraga Karikkin Vellam," "Karinkunnam 6's" and "Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum" also hit the theatres this festive season as a treat to the Kerala audience.
A trade analyst told International Business Times India that the Khalid Rahman-directed romantic family entertainer "Anuraga Karikkin Vellam" has grossed Rs. 3.87 crore with Rs. 3.18 crore net amount within seven days of its release at the Kerala box office. The Asif Ali, Biju Menon, Rajisha Vijayan and Asha Sharath-starrer has been well accepted by movie-goers, who have tagged it a realistic family entertainer.

However, despite garnering mixed response from the audience, Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya and Amala Paul's comedy entertainer "Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum" has collected Rs. 4.04 crore gross amount within seven days from Kerala alone. The net collection of the multi-starrer is said to be Rs. 3.24 crore with a share amount of Rs. 1.91 crore. Meanwhile, the approximate collection of Manju Warrier's sports film "Karinkunnam 6s" is said to be Rs. 3.13 crore gross with a net amount of Rs. 2.52 crore and Rs. 1.43 crore share after completing seven days of its theatrical run in the state.
Director Nithin Renji Panicker's debut film "Kasaba" has been ruling the Kerala box office and is said to have earned a gross amount of Rs. 8.18 crore within five days its release in Kerala. The latest box office update of the film is yet to be revealed by trade analysts. The movie has already broken the opening day record of Dulquer Salmaan's thriller "Kali" by raking in Rs. 2.50 crore on its first day itself.
Meanwhile, previous Malayalam releases, including "Kammatipaadam," "Jacobinte Swargarajyam" and "Happy Wedding" are still running well at the Kerala box office. While Dulquer Salmaan and Nivin Pauly's movies have entered the list of blockbusters of the year, Siju Wilson's "Happy Wedding" has become the surprise hit of the year minting an approximate gross collection of Rs. 7.35 crore within 53 days of its run in Kerala.
