The AFC Cup 2016 campaign has instilled an absolutely new dose of life inside Bengaluru FC forward CK Vineeth. Ever since he returned to Kerala Blasters for ISL 2016, he has been nothing short of sensational. Scoring goals and winning matches. What else does a football team need from a forward?
On Super Saturday, the 28-year-old gave an enthralling display in front of the thousands of Kerala Blasters fans as his late brace at the death helped the Sachin Tendulkar co-owned team record a 3-1 win over Chennaiyin FC at the JLN Stadium in Kochi in an electrifying South Indian football derby.
This is only the second time in the history of the Indian Super League that Kerala Blasters have bagged a win over Chennaiyin FC in a total of eight meetings. The return leg fixture win helped Kerala Blasters move to the second spot of the ISL 2016 points table, while the MS Dhoni co-owned Chennaiyin FC continued remaining on the seventh position with just ten points achieved from nine games.
"Kerala, you're amazing! Thank you for all the support. Three points. On to the next one!" wrote Vineeth on twitter after the game.
Here is how social media are reacting on Blasters' sensational win:
