Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters are leaving no stones unturned as they look for a fresh start to the football season. The Kochi-based franchisee has announced its 11th foreign player for the season -- Haiti international Duckens Nazon, who plied his trade in the Copa America 2016 in the United States.
Duckens, 22, is one of the most highly-rated players from Haiti at the moment and he has been included in his national team's World Cup 2018 squad.
"I am delighted to be part of this fantastic team Kerala Blasters FC," Duckens mentioned. "It is an opportunity for me to bring the flavours of Haitian football to India. I thank the management for showing faith in me. I am looking forward to working with [Kerala Blasters] coach Steve Coppell and my teammates," he added.
The centre forward, who can also play as a left winger, has picked a total of 17 caps for the Haiti football team, including three Copa America Centenario appearances. He has scored a total four times, which includes two goals in the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2015.
Coppell, the fourth English coach to join Kerala Blasters in three years, is relishing the prospect of working with the young forward. "We welcome Duckens Nazon in the Kerala Blasters family. The young and dynamic forward will certainly bolster our attack in the Indian Super League 2016," said Coppell. "I am looking forward to working with him this season," he added.
