Megastar Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Allu Aravind, Sachin Tendulkar and industrialist Aravind Prasad, who are the owners of Indian Super League team Kerala Blasters, were spotted in Tirupati recently.
Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Allu Aravind, Sachin Tendulkar and Aravind Prasad were seen coming out of the Venkateshwara Temple after offering prayers to the deity earlier this week. Many devotees were thrilled to see these celebs there. SKN, the Mega family public relations officer, tweeted photos featuring the five in Tirupati, and they are being fast circulated on Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp.
Sachin Tendulkar, who became the owner of Kerala Blasters Football Club in May 2014, introduced the new co-owners to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the latter's office on Wednesday morning. The former India cricket captain said he and the co-owners have agreed to the state government's request to set up a residential football academy to groom young football stars.
"We are beginning our third season in right earnest and have some of the biggest names coming on board as investors in Kerala Blasters. I welcome Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Allu Arvind and Prasad to this exciting experience which is made more special with the faith and unique place that Kerala Blasters holds in the hearts of millions of its followers," Sachin Tendulkar told News 18.
Telugu actors Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna are equally excited to be part of the Kochi franchise. "All of us at Kerala Blasters are committed to expanding the football base in the state and give the potential talent a platform to perform and excel," Chiru said. "I have been supporting sports in the country and I am excited to start with football and a very special football team — Kerala Blasters," Nag said.
Hours after meeting Pinarayi Vijayan, Nagarjuna Akkineni took to Twitter to share his excitement. He posted a photo featuring him with the other owners of Kerala Blasters and wrote: "We are all excited to join Sachin and Kerala Blasters !!#yellowmeinkhelo. [sic]"
