Priests and pastors asking members to give up their sinful ways is nothing new. But a Kenyan pastor has ordered the women in his church to come to the service without wearing any bra and panties to experience the touch of Christ.
The pastor of a church in Dandora, an eastern suburb in Nairobi, Kenya to the utter disbelief of his members said that to experience Christ, the members should be free and so women should not wear any inner clothing. The Kenyan pastor then ordered women to attend his church without wearing any bras and panties to allow Christ to "enter their lives fully," according to Kenyan Post.
Reverend Njohi from Lord's Propeller Redemption Church in his sermon stated that undergarments were "ungodly." People need to be free in "body" and "spirit" if they want the Lord to be a part of their lives, he added.
Pastor Njohi also has reportedly warned the women of dire consequences if they were found wearing undergarments to church secretly.
Mothers were requested to pass on the message to their daughters and check them to ensure they weren't wearing any bras or panties while attending mass. However, no such dictate has been issued to the male members.
In a similar incident, another church in US, recently made clothing optional for everyone from the pastor to the congregation, ABC13 reported.
The Whitetail Chapel in Ivor, Virginia, calls itself a family-oriented church. Noting that Christ was naked, Pastor Allen Parker told ABC13: "When he was born he was naked, when he was crucified he was naked and when he arose he left his clothes in the tomb and he was naked. If God made us that way, how can that be wrong?"
