American supermodel Kendall Jenner got to meet the exact version of herself in London yesterday, representing the latest celebrity to be immortalised in wax at Londons Madame Tussauds. Initially branding the meeting as creepy, the waxwork version of Jenner is the latest addition to the tourist attraction, and can be seen wearing a black dress while seated in front of a mirror in a backstage make-up room.
The new model is part of a behind-the-scenes fashion exhibition at the museum, which includes a catwalk with waxwork figures of model Cara Delevingne and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
It was a bit creepy at first but it was really, I mean its cool, its such an honour, and Im getting used to it and now its fine, but at first I was a little creeped out, Jenner said.
A Madame Tussauds representative said that people have to sit for up to three hours during the process of having a waxwork lookalike made – but Jenner insisted that the experience was more interesting than hard. When asked whether shed like to see more Kendall Jenners in the world, the model replied, Yeah, why not, someone said to me like how crazy would it be to be stood in a room with like ten of them, and it would be really weird.
Nicole Fenner, a spokesperson for Madame Tussauds, explained that having Jenner in their collection was a pleasure, saying: I think shes alongside some of the great models of our time, and certainly that new generation of model that were seeing alongside the likes of Cara Delevingne and others, so it was just a pleasure to be able to work so closely with Kendall and introduce her figure into the experience.
The model was spotted at London Fashion Weeks Topshop show with Delevingne earlier this week. She also appeared on the catwalk at Diane Von Furstenbergs autumn/winter 2016 collection during New York Fashion Week earlier this month alongside Gigi Hadid, Jourdan Dunn and Karlie Kloss.
