Kelly Clarkson finally took to her twitter account to confirm she's pregnant, weeks after rumors of her pregnancy started making the rounds.
The original American Idol winner Clarkson married long-time fiance Brandon Blackstock in a small ceremony that took place in Tennessee on 20 October. The two had announced their engagement last December.
Now, less than a month since the wedding, Clarkson confirmed she is pregnant. The singer took to her Twitter account late last evening to announce the news.
"I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever," she tweeted.
The announcement was much of a surprise since rumours of the singer's pregnancy have been making the rounds for some time now. Even during her recent appearance at The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Clarkson hinted she may be expecting her first child. However, despite the host insisting she makes an official announcement, the singer refrained from confirming the news. All she said was that she was "actively trying" to get pregnant and that "practice makes perfect."
Leno even teased the star that may be she was waiting to make the announcement on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", since that's where stars supposedly make their big announcements.
"I always get these stars that come and go, 'I'm thinking about having a baby,' and then the next week they go on 'Ellen' and announce it there. So, I'm asking you, are you pregnant?" he said during the interview, according to a Star Pulse report.
It's no secret that Clarkson has always wanted kids and a big family.
"I want two kids. Two more, that is. I've already got two!" she told Us Weekly in an interview earlier this month. "Well, I'm totally gonna have a girl. My first child will be a girl. I know it in my soul."
Blackstock already has two children from his previous marriage, both of whom are girls - Savannah and Seth.
