Kapil Mishra, who was recently sacked as the water minister of Delhi, addressed a press conference at 5 pm on Monday where he dared the Political Affairs Committee to sack him from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Mishra had made shocking allegations against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday (May 7) accusing him of taking Rs. 2 crore from Health Minister Satyendar Jain. He also alleged that Jain has settled land deals worth Rs. 50 crore for "Arvind Kejriwal's relatives". When he asked the Delhi CM about the money he took from Jain, Kejriwal said a lot of things "happen" in politics that "cannot be explained", he further alleged.
"I will not leave the Aam Aadmi Party. AAP will have a Political Affairs Committee meeting tonight at 7 pm. I dare them to sack me from AAP. I have been given death threats by people who stay close to Kejriwal," Mishra told reporters in Delhi on Monday.
Mishra also claimed that Kejriwal was not the "same person that we looked up to and worshipped." "We considered Arvind Kejriwal as god. Kejriwal cannot leave his chair, he is no more the same person... Power has corrupted him," the former water minister of Delhi said.
Mishra said he would submit all evidence in connection with the alleged Rs. 400 crore water tanker scam to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday at 11.30 am. "CBI has given me a time; 11.30 am tomorrow. I will submit all the incriminating files to the CBI tomorrow, file an FIR and remain as a witness," the sacked AAP minister said.
He also spoke about the AAP leaders calling him a "BJP agent" and said that "I am not with the BJP and PM Modi. If anyone from the AAP who has spoken against PM Modi, BJP, Congress; may it be on the topic of Kashmir or Pathankot, his name is Kapil Mishra. I have always stood against BJP and will never join it."
Mishra appeared before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Delhi on Monday, May 8, to submit evidence against two persons in connection with the Rs 400-crore water tanker scam. Mishra had also gone to the office of the CBI after submitting evidence to the ACB.
"We will record the statement of Kapil Mishra, and law will take its own course... He did not give any complaint regarding that (Kejriwal allegedly accepting Rs 2 crore bribe from Jain)," ACB Chief Mukesh Kumar Meena told reporters.
