"The Flash" has gone on a mid-season break following the arrival of Wally West at Joe's (Jesse L Martin) house, but when The CW show returns, we will get to see more of Iris' (Candice Patton) brother and his transition into becoming the Kid Flash.
As of now, we do not know when that will be, and how much of a part he will play in Team Flash, but Keiynan Lonsdale, who plays the young Wally West, has some ideas to speed up the process.
Lonsdale, who will celebrate his 24th birthday on Thursday, 17 December, had originally auditioned for the role of Jax aka one half of FIRESTORM, which eventually went to Franz Drameh. It was only just before he went in for shooting that he learned he would play the role of Joe's son and Iris' brother.
Wally's arrival is going to significantly change the West family dynamic, especially since Joe and Iris did not even know about his existence until a couple of weeks ago. Moreover, Joe already has a son in Barry (Grant Gustin), having even handing over a family heirloom – a watch – to him for Christmas. A sibling rivalry between Wally and Barry can be expected in the coming episodes.

Wally initially feels like he might not have a place in Joe and Iris' life, and because of that his walls are also built very high. He feels threatened by Barry, because his presence makes Wally question where he stands in the family. However, it is going to be pretty hard to hate Barry, because he is one of the nicest guys ever and sooner or later Wally is going to see that too.
He will also hopefully join Team Flash soon and help them protect Central City. If the show runners delay Wally's emergence as the Kids Flash, Lonsdale has some genius plans to get things done. "If it doesn't happen soon, I will casually make my own suit and casually wear it on set to make everyone speed up the process," he revealed to Just Jared.
