Actress Keerthi Suresh is set to make it big in South cinema. The actress, who has recently grabbed some noticeable films in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu, will be next seen opposite Dhanush.
According to reports, Keerthi's next film will be directed by Prabhu Solomon and the yet-to-be-titled movie is touted as a travel drama. The story is about a man who travels from Delhi to Chennai via Duronto Express and Dhanush will play the role of a pantry worker.
"Keerthi was recently signed on for the project. Director Prabhu felt she would be perfect for the role. Initially, he had plans of casting a newcomer, but after seeing Keerthi's work in Malayalam, he decided to go with her," a source told IANS.
Keerthi, who is the daughter of Malayalam producer Suresh Kumar and veteran actress Menaka, made her debut in as a child artiste with "Pilots" in 2000 and later appeared in "Achaneyanenikkistham" (2001) and "Kuberan" (2002).
In 2013, Keerthi made her debut as lead heroine in Priyadarshan's psychological thriller "Geethanjali" in which she played a double role. The film was an unofficial sequal of the Malayalam blockbuster "Manichithrathazhu" (1993) and the plot was loosely based on the book, "Elephants Can Remember", written by Agatha Christie.
Meanwhile, the actress is now awaiting the release of "Idhu Enna Maayam", "Rajini Murugan" and "Paambu Sattai" in Tamil, "Aina Ishatam Nuvvu" and "Harikatha" in Telugu and "Darboni" in Malayalam.
The shooting of the upcoming Prabhu Solomon film is expected to kick-start soon after Dhanush completes "VIP 2". According to reports, Dhanush will be spotted in two different looks in "VIP 2", which also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Amy Jackson and KS Ravikumar.
