Both Kedarnath and 2.0 Hindi witnessed excellent box office collection on Sunday. Though 2.0 is running on its second week, it collected almost at par with Kedarnath which completed its day 3 at the Indian box office.
Kedarnath has had a decent start at the domestic market with a collection of Rs 7.25 crore on the opening day. The movie witnessed a growth of 35 percent on Saturday, registering an earning of Rs 9.75 crore.
Kedarnath enjoyed even better response on day 3, and had a good occupancy of around 30-40 Percent at the theatres. The film collected Rs 10.75 crore at the Indian box office on Sunday, taking it three days total to around Rs 27.75 crore, according to early estimates.
"#Kedarnath has a good weekend, witnessing substantial growth on Day 2 [34.48%], but limited growth on Day 3 [10.26%]... Sustaining well from Mon to Thu is pivotal... Fri 7.25 cr, Sat 9.75 cr, Sun 10.75 cr. Total: ₹ 27.75 cr. India biz," Taran Adarsh tweeted.
On the other side, 2.0 Hindi that has already crossed Rs 150 crore at the domestic market, maintained strong hold at the commercial circuits even on the second week. After having a business of Rs 9.15 crore on Saturday, the sci-fi thriller collected Rs 12 crore (approximately) on its second Sunday, taking total Hindi collection to around Rs 166 crore, as per early estimates. Exact figures are awaited.
Although 2.0 has apparently been affecting box office collection of Kedarnath to a great extent, the latter has managed to end the first weekend with a good total. It will be interesting to see if the Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan starrer is able to maintain a hold at the ticket counters over the weekdays also.
While 2.0 had received mixed reviews from the critics, Kedarnath had mostly gotten average response from the experts. However, both the films impressed the audience with its visual effects, which is shown in the box office figures.
