India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd has launched the Z800 limited colour edition priced at Rs 7.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The special edition comes with combination colours -- Candy Plasma Blue and Metallic Spark Black -- and has been launched without an increase in price.
Apart from the new paint job, the special edition is identical to the regular Z800 in terms of styling as well as the engine. Kawasaki Z800 is powered by a 806cc in-line four cylinder liquid-cooled engine that develops 111.5bhp at 10,200rpm and 83Nm of torque at 8,000rpm, mated to six speed transmission. The motorcycle comes with 41mm upside-down suspension in the front, while the rear gets gas-charged mono suspension. The naked sports bike measures 2,100mm in length, 800mm in width and 1,050mm in height. It also features 1,445mm wheelbase and 150mm ground clearance.
The Z800 for India is currently imported from Thailand as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). There were reports that the company is mulling over the adoption of local assembly of the model that will result drop in price of around Rs 1 lakh. However, the company denied the rumours and said that it has no such plans.
The Japanese motorcycle maker also launched the Ninja 300 KRT edition in India recently. Ninja 300 KRT edition features black and green livery in place of the white and green paint combination. It also features KRT edition badges near the fuel cap and the lower section of the fairing. The colour combination has been inspired from the Kawasaki factory racing team participating in the World Superbike Championship. The KRT edition has been priced at Rs 3.61 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai.
