Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki is reportedly working on a 600cc supercharged sports bike christened as R2. The R2 will be smaller and user friendly younger sibling of the H2R motorcycle.
A set of leaked patent images indicates the design of the R2 will sport a blend of ZX-6R and the H2R. The motorcycle will feature a large air scoop below the visor with a compact nose kind of embellishment ahead of the headlights. An air intake tucked under the belly of the fuel tank and an under seat exhaust can be seen that will make the side profile sleek. The fuel tank has been extended under the rider's seat to make more room for the supercharger unit. The motorcycle will use trellis frame.
There is no information on the power and torque figures as of now. However the number will certainly raise eyebrows just the way Kawasaki did when it showcased the H2R with 310bhp and H2 with 200bhp.
Kawasaki has already trademarked the Ninja R2 name in Europe and that concretes new nomenclature for company's supercharged motorcycle. The R2 is expected to debut at the EICMA show in Milan in November.
