With popular show "Naagin" coming to an end soon, producer Ekta Kapoor is gearing up for her next venture titled "Kavach," which will reportedly replace Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani's supernatural show.
"Kavach" has been making a lot of buzz as it will see popular actress Mona Singh and Vivek Dahiya of "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" fame sharing the screen space for the first time. The show is a finite series and will revolve around Mona's character, who would go to any extent to protect her husband from all evils.
The makers recently released the promo of the show, which took everyone by surprise as it featured popular model and actress Maheck Chahal in important role. Talking about her first fiction show, Maheck told India Forums that she plays a parallel lead role alongside Mona and Vivek. "The story revolves around three of our characters. I am so excited to be a part of the show as this role is an envying one for many. I know, this is my first ever fiction show. But, the sheer nature of the role was so alluring, where in today's date, though there are many female characters, not everyone gets to play such a role. It's a multi-layered role which will sport negative as well as positive shades," Maheck said.
"I wanted to do a fiction show as I have literally tried each and everything, from modelling to reality shows. Now, with this show, I make my fiction debut. And after all, the show is helmed by producer honcho, Ekta Kapoor. She is the master, and who wouldn't love to work with her? So I grabbed this opportunity and am loving it. Also, the best part is that it is a finite series and it won't be lasting for like a year long and so on," she added.
The promo of "Kavach," which features Mona, Vivek and Maheck, looks gripping. Maheck was last seen in reality show "Power Couple" along with her boyfriend and actor Ashmit Patel. On the other hand, Mona was last seen on Ekta's "Pyar Ko Ho Jaane Do," opposite Iqbal Khan. Although, the show had a unique concept, it failed to garner the required TRPs, which resulted in the show going off air.
In other news, "Naagin" will reportedly air its last episode April 30. There were reports that the makers have stored an exciting twist for its viewers before the first season ends. Fans of Shivanya (Mouni) and Rithik (Arjun), who are eagerly waiting for the couple to reunite, will witness Shivanya giving up her Icchadhari Naagin avatar for the sake of her love Rithik. The show will end on a happy note with both Sivanya and Rithik reuniting in the final episode.
