Television actress Mona Singh, who rose to popularity with the portrayal of Jassi in the 2003 hit show "Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin," is willing to be a part of the next instalment of the series if its makers plan to go ahead with it.
Expressing her eagerness to star in Season 2 of the show, Mona told Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) the show had helped her gain recognition in the TV industry, and that she would definitely love to be a part of it. "Of course. I loved the show. It gave me all I wanted. If there is a season two, I would jump at it," she said.
Mona, however, admitted that there is an era for every kind of show to connect with the audience. Although "Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin" worked wonders with the masses a decade ago, the actress is uncertain if it will be accepted now.
"I think there is a time for every kind of show. Like 'Bade Achhe Lagte Hain', 'Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin,' 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' had a phase. I don't know how it will be accepted now. Maybe it will be a risk," she added.
Mona will soon be seen on Ekta Kapoor's upcoming show "Kavach," which has Vivek Dahiya of "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" fame as the male lead. The show is a finite series of 32 episodes and will revolve around Mona's character, who goes to any extent to protect her husband (Vivek's character) from the spirit of his ex-lover, played by Maheck Chahal. "Kavach" will replace the supernatural show "Naagin" and will go on air from June 11 on Colors TV.
