Popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) is back with its ninth season. Speculations regarding the host of the season have been put to rest with the news that Amitabh Bachchan will reprise his role as the host of KBC 9.
The Big B confirmed the update about the new season on his official blog, and also informed fans that the registration questions for the contest will be aired by August or September. "KBC has gracefully agreed to reappear and in doing so has coerced me into recording the Registration Questions for the contest to be on air by August-September this year," the 74-year-old actor posted on his blog.
The winners of the contest will further compete against each other for the hot seat, where they get to play the game with Bachchan and have a chance to win the huge prize money.
KBC 9 will hit the screens after a gap of three years. The delay in airing the ninth season was apparently because of Big B, who couldn't dedicate time for the shooting of the game show as he was busy with his back-to-back Bollywood projects.
Bachchan has been associated with the popular game show as the host since it was launched in 2000, except for its third season that was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.
Rumour has it that KBC 9 will be bigger and better than its previous seasons. The show will undergo certain changes and the prize money will also be higher than the last season's Rs 7 crore.
In other news, the Pink actor is busy shooting for 102 Not Out along with Rishi Kapoor, after which he will start working on Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan.
