Katy Perry, the "Roar" hitmaker, is all set to take the stage at NFL's upcoming Super Bowl during half-time, the singer and the football association confirmed.
Rumors of Perry being roped in to perform at the Super Bowl XLIX slated to take place on 1 February, 2015, were doing the rounds since August. Perry dropped some big hints in between about her performance and about a month ago Billboard also confirmed the news citing inside sources.
But the official announcement came on Sunday with the NFL and Perry both confirming the news.
While Bob Costas announced the performance at halftime of the Cowboys-Giants game on Sunday Night Football, the NFL's official twitter account also confirmed the news:

Perry took to twitter to share her excitement as well.
My band is in the other room screaming at the TV (and each other) over this Cowboys-Giants game. Can't wait for February 1st... ??

The "California Girls" crooner also shared a video of her plans for the performance. One should expect everything from the stadium covered in "edible glitter" to unicorns and of course "Fireworks."
Perry will join the list of celebrities that include Madonna, Bruce Springsteen and The Rolling Stones, who have performed at the prestigious show.
