Katrina Kaif is easily one of the most sought after actresses of recent times, and her résumé is pretty impressive with a bunch of films alongside Bollywood's greatest superstars: Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir Khan.
Having churned blockbusters with the Khans, the Brit import is now keen on taking a detour. Her upcoming releases feature actors her age – "Fitoor" with Aditya Roy Kapoor, "Jagga Jasoos" with boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and a film with Sidharth Malhotra, who is a year younger than her.
"It was a conscious decision for her to work with the newer breed of heroes, just like Kareena worked with Imran Khan after she reached 30. It's an 'age' old strategy. Heroines like Meena Kumari, Nanda and Mala Sinha too worked with leading men younger than them during their time," a director friend of the actress told Subhash K Jha in an interview.
However, this doesn't necessarily indicate that she won't sign films with the Khans.
"Dhoom 3" (2013), "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" (2012), "Ek Tha Tiger" (2012), "Yuvvraaj" (2008), "Partner" (2007), "Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?" (2005) are Katrina's list of films done with the Khan trio. Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan are the other two superstars with whom the gorgeous actress has shared screen space with.
Meanwhile, a film with Katrina would mean dream-come-true for Sidharth as, a few years ago, he hoped he could work with her some day.
"Katrina Kaif is very attractive; she is a cool girl to chat up with. She has the correct European styling. I'm really interested in doing a film with Katrina Kaif as she is a great performer. If something really comes up, I would like to take it up," IBN Live quoted the young star as saying.
