Speculations over the leading lady for Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Raees" continue after Katrina Kaif denied being approached for the role.
Both Kaif and the film's director Rahul Dholakia have now dismissed reports linking the actress to the project.
Earlier, Mid-Day, quoting an industry source, had reported that the "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" actress has been in talks to star opposite Khan in "Raees" and she has apparently given the nod for the project.
However, on Friday, Kaif clarified to the PTI that it's not "Raees" but two other films for which is being considered. The actress already has three big projects in hand, including "Bang Bang" opposite Hrithik Roshan, "Phantom" with Saif Ali Khan and "Jagga Jasoos" with beau Ranbir Kapoor. She has also been reportedly approached for Ashutosh Gowarikar's period film.
"I don't know where this news has come from. There is no such discussion like that till now. There are three films 'Bang Bang', 'Phantom' and 'Jagga Jasoos' that I am doing right now. I am in talks for two more projects which I can't reveal," Katrina told PTI.
Even "Raees" director Dholakia confirmed they are yet to finalise the leading lady.
"I don't think so we have approached her. But we will surely finalise the leading lady in a couple of weeks," he said.
And now with Kaif's denial, Sonam Kapoor is back in the race. Excel Entertainment, the film's producers, had earlier stated that Kapoor will be paired with SRK for the first time. [Read the report here]
However, neither Dholakia nor Kapoor are yet to confirm the news.
