Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif will finally attend the prestigious Cannes International Film festival this year as an ambassador of a cosmetic group.
Fans of the actress were expecting her to make her Cannes red carpet debut last year, but Katrina gave the film festival a miss.
However, this year she is set to dazzle on the red carpet at the 68th Cannes Film Festival. The cosmetic group L'Oreal Paris confirmed announced that Katrina will attend the film festival.
"We're thrilled to announce our stunning brand ambassador Katrina Kaif, will be walking the Red Carpet at Cannes this year.#KatrinaAtCannes," the cosmetic brand tweeted.
The actress also confirmed that she will represent India at the global platform along with other brand ambassadors.
"I'm very excited to represent L'Oréal Paris and India at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Being an actor, it is very inspiring to attend an event that celebrates all forms of cinema. As a L'Oréal Paris ambassador, I can't wait to meet the other global ambassadors and help set new beauty trends for this year," Katrina said in a statement.
Last week, the cosmetic brand tweeted about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor attending the film festival.
"Retweet if you are excited to see @sonamkapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walk the Red Carpet at #Cannes2015," the tweet read.
Aishwarya and Sonam have been attending the film festival from past few years. Aishwarya, who has been endorsing the brand for around 12 years, has been attending the film festival for more than a decade, while Sonam has been attending the event since five years.
The "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" actress is excited to have Katrina on board. Talking about Katrina's appearance at the film festival, Sonam said that she is excited to meet her over there.
"Katrina is a gorgeous girl who has a unique individual style that she embraces and highlights with panache. I am sure she will dazzle everyone at the French Riviera and I can't wait to meet her there. I am glad to be representing India with two amazing L'Oréal Paris ambassadors at Cannes," Sonam said, according to IANS.
"Together we will embody the glamour, diversity, beauty and talent that define this country," the "Khoobsurat" actress added.
