Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise ended their marriage in 2012 but their personal lives remained the talk of the tinsel town. Recently, Katie's former co-star from her show, Dawson's Creek spilled the beans about Katie's humongous crush on Tom Cruise when she was only 15 years old.
Katie Holmes' co-star from Dawson's Creek, Mary Beth Peil revealed during her interview with The Daily Beast that Katie reportedly had a huge crush on Tom Cruise long before they became Hollywood's beloved couple. As per Peil, one day on the sets of Dawson's Creek, after Tom Cruise's ex-wife, Mimi Rogers, had left the makeup room, Katie told Peil about her feelings towards Tom.
"She knew everything about him. She said, 'I have had a crush on him since I was 15, and his posters were on the walls of my bedroom.' She could not stop talking about Tom Cruise. This was way before they got together, but she was certainly ready for him," Peil said during her candid chat.
This apparently won't be for the first time when Katie Holmes revealed her true feelings for Tom. Back in 2004, she revealed during an interview with Seventeen magazine that "I think every little girl dreams about (her wedding). I used to think I was going to marry Tom Cruise."
Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise's personal life created a lot of media hype ever since the couple started dating in 2005. They made their romance public in April 2005, after publicly appearing together in Rome, where Tom had traveled to receive a David di Donatello Award for lifetime achievement.
Late that same year, Top Gun movie star appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and openly declared his love for the Batman Begins movie actress Katie Holmes. In June, Katie converted from Catholicism to the Church of Scientology.
The couple later got married on November 18, 2006, at the 15th-century Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano, Italy. However, on June 29, 2012, Katie filed for divorce from Tom. In a released statement to the media, Tom's attorney called it a "private matter" and that Katie's primary concern is Suri Cruise's best interest. Whereas, Tom's rep also stated that the actor is deeply saddened by the divorce and is concentrating on his three children.
Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise divorce had made it the third divorce for the latter.
