The songs of Vijay's "Kaththi," composed by Anirudh, have turned out to be huge hits. There are five songs and two themes in the album. While all the songs have received good response, the "Selfie Pulla" track crooned by Vijay and Sunidhi Chauhan has become a huge hit among the masses.
Even before the audio was released, a rough-cut version of the song was leaked on social media sites and received tremendous response from the fans. It raised expectations on the original song rendered by Ilayathalapathy.
When "Kaththi" album was released last month, it topped the iTunes India charts. The "Selfi Pulla" song has become a rage among the fans and has been downloaded several times.
Eros Tamil, which had acquired the audio rights of "Kaththi", had uploaded the full audio songs on YouTube. The official "Selfie Pulla" audio song has received positive response on the video sharing site with more than one million views and over 7,000 likes. Fans are eagerly looking forward to see the visuals of the song.
The film's teaser, which was released during the audio launch, has also become a big hit among the audience. Recently, the official video crossed the two million mark on YouTube.
"Kaththi" is one of the most-awaited films of the year. The film is carrying huge expectations ever since the project was announced.
The shooting, which commenced in February 2014, was wrapped up recently. The film has received a "U" certificate from the censor board.
The action thriller is confirmed for Diwali release. The Telugu version is also expected to be released simultaneously on 22 October.
Vijay's films take good openings and "Kaththi" is also expected to follow suit. Since it is releasing on a Wednesday, 22 October, it is likely to enjoy a five-day-long weekend and rake in huge collections. Diwali period has proved to be lucky for Vijay and it will be interesting to see if "Kaththi" emerges as the festival winner this year.
