Ilayathalapathy Vijay is all set to create history at the Bangalore Box Office as his latest movie "Kaththi", which has collected  ₹23.45 crores at the worldwide Box Office, has struck gold here. The first two days collections of the Tamil movie clearly prove his huge popularity in the cosmopolitan city.

On the first day, "Kaththi" collected ₹1.58 crore in Karnataka and Bangalore had lion's share in it. In the Garden City, the Tamil movie earned ₹1.03 crore.

On the second day too, "Kaththi" repeated the same performance in Bangalore. The Tamil film minted a crore in Bangalore on the second day and approximately raked in ₹1.50 crores in entire Karnataka. It means the flick has made more than ₹ 3 crores in the city. This by any margin is a big number for a Tamil film.

"Kaththi" had a total of 450 shows in Karnataka on the first and the second day. In Bangalore, the Tamil flick had 290 shows. The occupancy did not have much variation and on an average it had 80% occupancy.

"Vijay's films sell like hot cakes in Bangalore. Not only Tamilians, Kannadigas too watch his movies. It is evident with the response that "Kaththi" received in the Bangalore city," a threatre owner said.

On the turn outs, he noted, "The Tamil film ran into packed houses on the first two days in Bangalore. Multiplexes are the biggest gainers as they increased the number of shows to meet the demand. Indeed, they cashed in on the occasion and made good money. Some multiplexes dedicated their screens completely to the Vijay starrer movie."

"Kaththi" earned ₹ 12.5 crores (Nett) on the release day in Tamil Nadu. The movie made ₹ 1.5 crore in Kerala and ₹ 2 crores in rest of India including Karnataka. The response for the film in foreign countries likes the US, Australia, UK and Malaysia has been good. Traders predict that the film might break several records given the positive reviews that it is getting from audience and critics.
