On Friday (24 October), director AR Murugadoss proudly claimed that his latest release Vijay's "Kaththi" has created a history not only in Kollywood but also set a new benchmark for the opening day business at the South Indian box office.
This became a sensational news in no time as collecting ₹23.45 crore in a day worldwide was not an easy task. However, these claims are now being questioned as a campaign has kicked off online accusing that the Vijay starrer is a flop movie.
A section of people are spreading messages that the declared collection of "Kaththi" by the makers is far from the truth and the actual figure is something else. They claim that the collection of the movie drastically came down on Friday and Saturday (24-25 October).
To support their claims, they posted pictures of the empty theatres from different places in Tamil Nadu. However, the nature of the campaign clearly shows that it is the handy work of Vijay haters and the fans of other superstars.
To give fillip to their claims, the hate mongers are spreading that a leading daily has published a story in which there is a mention of the movie's bad performance in Kerala, and says that after getting a gigantic opening, the film's collections have shockingly dropped.
As of now, on enquiring, there is no official confirmation regarding the slowing down of the film's business. Shibu Thameens, who is distributing the movie in Kerala is reportedly happy with the collections.
Proud Moment for Vijay Fans
It is a proud moment for Vijay fans as "Kaththi" has got an earth-shattering collection on its first and second day. Interestingly, the film is doing well in key international markets. Vijay and Samantha's flick is rocking at the UK, US and Australia box offices. And in Malaysia, the film is set to break existing records.
