Director Krish's NTR: Kathanayakudu starring Balakrishna and Vidya Balan is set for a grand release on January 9 and will shatter all records of Gautamiputra Satakarni at the box office.
Gautamiputra Satakarni has been the highest grossing film for Krish and Balakrishna and its success has created a lot of hype for their second combo film NTR: Kathanayakudu. Many fans are curious to know whether their latest film will beat the records of their previous combo movie. We think that it will definitely smash them and here are the reasons that make us think so.
Biopic on NTR
Krish's latest venture is a two-part biographical movie on the life of legendary actor NT Rama Rao and the first one title is titled NTR: Kathanayakudu, which deals with NTR's film career and life before entering politics. Like Gautamiputra Satakarni, this movie also boasts of a great subject. In fact, this one is more interesting. The younger generation audience, who are not much aware of his personal life, are all excited to witness his life on big screens.
Ensemble Cast
Nandamuri Balakrishna has played the role of his father NT Rama Rao, while Vidya Balan appears as the latter's wife Basavatarakam. The movie features over 50 popular and talented actors as supporting cast. Kalyan Ram, Rana Daggubati, Sumanth, Rakul Preet Singh, Nithya Menen, Pranitha, Shriya Saran, Hansika Motwani, Shalini Pandey and Manjima Mohan are some of the notable names.
Promos and publicity
The promos of NTR: Kathanayakudu have grabbed many eyeballs across the globe and doubled curiosity and expectations from the film. The producers have spent a hefty sum on its publicity and Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is one of the producers, is leaving no stones unturned to make this film a great tribute for his late father NTR.
Along with Vidya Balan and Krish, Balakrishna has been visiting various cities across south India promote NTR: Kathanayakudu. Yesterday, they were in Bangalore to interact with media. Today, they installed the bust of late NTR at a theatre in Tirupati and 99 busts will be placed in select cinema halls across the Telugu states. This movie really looks bigger than any of Krish and Balayya's films in terms of promotions.
Volume of release
NTR: Kathanayakudu will be released in nearly 600 screens in the Telugu states, 225 screens in other parts of India and 275 screens in the US, UAE, UK and other international markets. The movie is slated to grace 1,100 plus screens across the globe, according to the ads featured in newspapers and portals. This number is said to be bigger than that of Gautamiputra Satakarni.
Advance booking
Many theatres opened the advance ticket booking for NTR: Kathanayakudu more than a week before its release. Some of the cinema halls have already sold out all the tickets for the first day, while others are fast filling. The distributors are increasing the number of shows and screens based on the demand. A day before it hit screens, the movie has registered an average of over 50 per cent booking in the theatres.
Box office predictions
The above aspects make us feel that NTR: Kathanayakudu will surely get a record-breaking opening and collected Rs 25 to 30 crore gross at the worldwide box office on the first day of its release. A word of mouth would help it remain strong at ticket counters on the following days. It will become the first Rs 100 grossing movie for both Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Krish.
