Kasturi Shankar has come down heavily on the media for spreading rumours about her entry to Bigg Boss Tamil house. She requested the people not to believe such "lies" while also inadvertently revealing that the offer had come her way.
"I am sitting here in America, but back home, there are debates about me entering Bigg Boss Tamil house... I am stuck here, who could not even pay homage to Karunanidhi. [sic]" she posted a video Twitter.
The actress claims that she is involved in a cancer research. "I have spoken about this myself before, but none bothered to take note of it. People are eager to spread lies. From this, one thing is clear. People is curiosity about such news even if it comes at the cost of truth," the actress fumes.
Kasturi says that she is not saying this because she rejected the offer to enter Bigg Boss house but because she has bigger issue at hand. The 44-year old recalls that similar kind of rumours were spread earlier. "I don't have time to go on denying rumours about me. But you may say there's no smoke without fire and I am sure there is no concrete reason for the latest rumours. This is a big example of how low media media can stoop (upma media), [sic]" she said.
She ends on the note that spreading rumours without verification in new-age media like WhatsApp have cost several lies. "I urge the media not to sell lies for money. I also urge the public not to believe in rumours which are spread for the sake of entertainment," she concludes.
A section of media had speculated that Kasturi was given a wild-card entry to Bigg Boss Tamil and she would be entering the house this week.
